Cancer

is a scary disease.  Sometimes because people are afraid of knowing the truth, they put off having regular cancer checkups.

yellow flower Debby is my sister and she has cancer.  She was diagnosed from a regular, routine check-up.  If she had waited for symptoms to appears, she might not be with us today.  Even with the earliest and best medical attention, some people die from cancer.  But that's no reason not to find out for sure.
yellow flower When you have a yearly medical exam, be sure to ask your doctor to do cancer screening.  It only takes a few minutes, and it could save your life.

yellow flower Even after having early cancer treatment, my sister's cancer came back.  Now she may have to have more surgery.  Is that a reason for putting off having a regular checkup?  Of course, not!  If she had waited, she probably still wouldn't know she had cancer.  She has had no symptoms that would have warned her.
Honey Bears from Cozy Cottage, thanks! Erla and Mary!
yellow flower When it comes to cancer, ignorance is not bliss.  Please don't wait.  Call your doctor today and make that appointment.  Then share the gift and encourage someone you love to call their doctor for cancer screening.
yellow flower My mother found out she had uterine cancer from a routine PAP test.  She is over a 30 year survivor from that cancer.  November 2005 marks her 5-year survival from breast cancer. Read about how her aching foot caused her to find out about her cancer.
yellow flower In the summer of 2005, my father had symptoms suspicious of cancer.  First he had a melanoma removed from his forehead.  Then the next month his doctor ordered a colonoscopy, and he was diagnosed with colorectal cancer.

Ribbons

yellow flower See the purple ribbon that Mary's bear is wearing?  The purple ribbon is to support cancer survivor's and cancer research.  A pink ribbon is for breast cancer and a blue ribbon is for prostrate cancer.  A white ribbon is for lung cancer and the gold one is for children.
