It's fall here, believe it or not.
In fact by the equinox, most of the deciduous trees have lost their
leaves. Everyone is excited about hunting season. We
have our first dark nights since spring.
Just a few days ago, we were driving home from town, and what should cross our
path but a huge moose. She was followed closely by her calf.
For safety's sake, we all know better than to come between a cow moose and her baby.
One year my husband and son were driving home from the Tanana Valley Fair.
As they passed the golf course, a bull moose came bounding down the path along the fence.
It jumped over the guard rail just in time to land on our car. His horn
caught in the windshield and he flipped right over the top of the car.
The moose didn't make it, but after a few weeks in the body shop, the car was as good as new.
This year the fall season comes upon us gradually with a few days of cold weather and then a few days of warm. Snowflakes fluttered a few times to warn us that winter is coming.
