Cartoon bears are very cute, but when you feed the real bears, it will cost them their lives. Why? Because once bears lose their fear of people, they become too dangerous and they must be destroyed.
Put your picnic leftovers in a trash can with a secure lid. Keep all food in air-tight containers. Do not store your food in the same place that you sleep.
Instead of feeding bears or shooting them, stay far away from them. Bears are wild animals and they need lots of space. Never surprise a bear.
